Product Details
Tamron B091R700 16-50mm F2.8 A APS-C Standard Zoom Lens for Canon RF Mount
The Tamron B091R700 16-50mm F2.8 A standard zoom lens for Canon RF APS-C mirrorless cameras combines a constant F2.8 maximum aperture with wide-angle-to-mid-telephoto coverage1 and responsive VXD autofocus. Designed for everyday photography and lifestyle video, this Tamron zoom lens moves from landscapes and architecture to family groups, street scenes and portraits. Short minimum focusing distances bring nearby details into reach, while BBAR-G2 coating helps limit ghosting and flare. Its portable design and bright aperture support travel shooting, low-light exposures and creative background separation.
Key Features
16-50mm Coverage for Everyday Subjects
A single standard zoom lens takes you from broad landscapes and architecture to family groups and street scenes. Turn toward the 50mm end for portraits, keeping a practical range of everyday subjects within one lens.
Constant F2.8 Aperture and Smooth Bokeh
The bright maximum aperture stays available as you zoom, giving you room to separate a portrait subject from the background or use faster exposures in low light. A seven-blade circular diaphragm helps render out-of-focus highlights smoothly, complementing the lens's creative background separation.
VXD Autofocus for Responsive Tracking
The VXD linear-motor focusing system follows moving subjects with responsive, quiet autofocus.2 That combination supports both everyday still photography and lifestyle video, making subject tracking a useful part of the lens's family and travel versatility.
Close Focusing for Nearby Details
Move from a wider scene to close-up discovery without changing lenses. At the wide end, the minimum object distance is 0.15m with maximum magnification of 1:4.5. At the telephoto end, focus as close as 0.29m with maximum magnification of 1:4.8, giving you another way to frame nearby subjects.
Optical Coatings and Moisture-Resistant Construction
BBAR-G2 addresses ghosting and flare, while the front element's fluorine coating makes cleaning easier. Barrel seals add moisture resistance to this everyday shooting companion. These features serve different purposes: the optical coating helps control unwanted light, fluorine simplifies front-element care, and the seals resist moisture. The lens is not waterproof.
Toned Profile Next Design and Cap Retention
Toned Profile Next styling and metal barrel elements give the lens a contemporary mechanical design. Front-cap strap holes let you attach a strap to help reduce cap loss, a practical detail when moving between shooting and putting the cap back on.
Firmware Updates With Tamron Lens Utility
Tamron Lens Utility supports firmware updates for the Canon RF version.3 Compatibility for this mount is limited to updating firmware, rather than additional lens-function customization.
