Added lower-hand support gives the pinky finger a comfortable place to rest, helping the camera feel settled during still and video work. The extended hold can also improve the sense of balance when the EOS R8 Mark II is paired with a larger lens.
Canon keeps everyday operation simple with a direct turn-dial attachment that does not require removing the camera's battery-compartment cover. Because the battery and SD card remain accessible, either can be replaced while the extension grip stays installed. An integrated tripod socket also maintains tripod compatibility without an extra removal step. Together, these practical details let the grip remain in place as a shoot moves from handheld framing to a tripod setup or continues through routine battery and memory card changes.
Beyond its handling benefits, the EG-E2 is designed to look at home on the EOS R8 Mark II. Its closely matched finish complements the camera body, while styling influenced by classic Canon camera heritage gives the accessory a cohesive appearance. The grip also serves as an ergonomic support point for a more natural shooting experience. For users seeking another measure of holding security, it accommodates the optional Canon Hand Strap E2, which is sold separately.2
Key Features
Enhanced Ergonomics
The EG-E2 increases the usable gripping area below the compact camera body, giving the lower fingers more surface to engage. Shooters who favor a taller camera can establish a confident hold, while the added support helps the camera-and-lens combination feel more manageable during extended handheld use.
Get a Grip
A dial-based connection makes the accessory straightforward to install or detach without disturbing the battery door. Its open-access design keeps essential camera functions within reach, and the built-in tripod connection supports quick transitions between mobile shooting and a stabilized setup.
Features
EOS R8 Mark II Compatibility
Purpose-built for a precise fit with the Canon EOS R8 Mark II.
Enhanced Ergonomics
Extends the body below the hand for a more confident shooting stance.
Secure Pinky-Finger Support
Creates a stable lower resting area that helps maintain a firm grasp.
Larger-Lens Balance
Provides a taller hold for improved handling with larger lenses.
Direct Turn-Dial Attachment
Fastens to the camera with an easy dial while leaving the battery door in place.
Battery Access While Attached
Allows battery changes without detaching the extension grip.
SD Card Access While Attached
Keeps the memory card slot available with the grip installed.
Integrated Tripod Socket
Supports tripod mounting while the accessory remains on the camera.
Hand Strap E2 Support
Accepts the optional Canon Hand Strap E2 for added holding security.2
Camera-Matched Styling
Pairs a closely coordinated finish with classic Canon design influence.
Footnotes
1 The Canon EG-E2 Extension Grip is designed exclusively for the Canon EOS R8 Mark II.
2 Canon Hand Strap E2 is sold separately.
California customers
Proposition 65 WARNING
WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm

Specifications
General
Color
Matte Black
Type
Handgrip
Compatibility
Canon EOS R8 Mark II

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0716/3808/9877/files/canon-digital-camera-accessory-kits-7624C001-angle.jpg?v=1792514824
